What BIRDIE is this?

I am hopeless when it comes to bird names. If anyone knows the name of this bird, please share some education.
Nature’s Hues do you have any idea?

I have been using a point and shoot camera thus far (Canon Powershot ELPH 300 HS), which though I appreciate, has some serious limitations. A friend kindly loaned me a more advanced Canon Powershot SX120IS and this was my lucky first shot 🙂

25 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? 26 Look at the BIRDS of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27 Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?

  1. I would guess some kind of sparrow 🙂

    1. My instinct said sparrow too :-). Thanks

  2. Nice capture, sorry I can’t help you ID this fellow though. It would help if you could remember any patterns on the wings or tail but there isn’t enough information in the photo for a rookie birder like me. Hopefully you’ll see another one soon and get an even better capture!
    Keep shooting, and good luck!

    1. thank you. i will be on the lookout.

    2. Hey. This is very helpful. This is my first bird shot. I will be sure to capture the back next time. Thank you.

      1. You’re very welcome! You have a nice eye, I would have never guessed this was your first bird photo! Good luck and I look forward to seeing more work from you.

  3. It’s not easy to tell, because it’s a front picture and doesn’t show much of the feather patterns – BUT, I note you live in Florida, and the state bird for Florida is the Mockingbird. If you look at pictures of that, it looks awfully similar.
